–Foreign based players expected at the Abuja camp on Tuesday latest
National U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia has warned all the players released for continental matches to report in camp today Monday ahead of the All Africa Games qualifier against Zambia on Sunday at the Abuja National Stadium.
The former Super Eagles coach who has insisted that Zambia will not be taken likely said all the players are expected to give their best in the match while assuring that the defence of the team which did not live up to expectation against Gabon in their last game has been worked on and the defenders will be up and doing in the match on Sunday.
“We are doing our best to prepare for the match, it is a home match and we know that preparing well will help us to win the match and so far, we have tried to correct some of the mistakes we made at the last game and we are just hoping that this will be better but the target is to win this match well and have confidence and edge ahead of the return leg match”, says the former Super Eagle striker.
Meanwhile, the Dream Team at the weekend defeated Lobi Stars 3-1 in a friendly match played in Makurdi to open Apar Aku Stadium which had been under reconstruction for over a year.
The result, according to the team’s spokesman, Timi Ibikagboro has helped the coaches to know the level of preparedness of the players for the Sunday’s game.
“It was a good game for the team and I am sure that the coaches were able to know the level of preparedness of the players for the match. Beating Lobi Stars 3-1 also showed that the team is getting better”, says Ibikagboro.
Complete Sports however gathered that the foreign based players invited for the match are expected to arrive at the Abuja camp not later than Tuesday.Unblock the FIFA World Cup with ExpressVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
