Silva Out As Pellegrini Targets Chelsea Win, Expects Tough Real Battle

Manuel Pellegrini has stated that Manchester City will be going for the three points against Chelsea on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The Citizens are fourth in the Premier League table and are not yet certain of a top four finish.

And speaking ahead of this weekend clash with the Blues, Pellegrini said in his press conference that he is giving every competition City are taking part in all the necessary attention.

"I am not prioritising any competition. The best way to do it is to play well, win our games. Our target is to win the next nine points," Pellegrini said.

Commenting on City's Champions League semi-final draw that pairs them with Real Madrid, Pellegrini described it as a tough one.

"It's a difficult draw, doesn't matter who we were going to draw, it was always going to be difficult. The motivation is the semi-final," he said.

On the availability of players for the game against Chelsea, the Chilean ruled out skipper Vincent Kompany, Raheem Sterling and David Silva.

"Out are Silva (ankle), Sterling has started working but hopefully he'll be ready Tuesday, all the other players are fit," Pellegrini explained.

"Kompany is working but he is not in the squad list for tomorrow. I hope he will play on Tuesday.

"Yaya, 100 per cent fit is an important player and can make a difference starting or playing 30 minutes.

"It's very important to have all our players so I can choose the best to play. They played well (against PSG) as they have done before."

He also commented on the impact Kevin De Brune has had on the team since returning from injury.

"He's  (De Bryune) very important for me. He's young, it depends how he improves, he keeps the ball and he scores. I think he's  improving."
