Moses Simon and Jamiu Alimi are confident of a Super Eagles victory against Zambia in today’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Ndola.
The Super Eagles will kick off qualifying campaign against the Chipolopolo with Simon expected to be in action.
Both teams failed to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and will hope to compensate their fans with the World Cup ticket.
Ahead of today’s game, Simon urges the Eagles to give their all for 90 minutes.
“Game’s day, let’s do it together and fight till the end. We are the Super Eagles,” the Gent of Belgium forward wrote on his Twitter handle.
Kano Pillars center-back Alimi insists the side is battle ready for Sunday’s Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against the Chipolopolo of Zambia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The three-time African Champions are looking to begin their campaign in the Group B fixture at the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium on a positive note after they failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon.
Alimi told Completesportsnigeria.com that they are looking forward to getting a win in the encounter.
“We have prepared well for this game and every one in the team is determined to see us to do well on the pitch,” the former Shooting Stars centre back told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“They (Chipolopolo) have the advantage of playing at home but that doesn’t count for us as we are determined to beat them in front of their fans.
“We are not thinking about any other result aside from getting the three points.”
The Desert Foxes of Algeria will host the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the other group game also on Sunday in Bilda.
