Sunshine Stars have backed Lobi Stars' claim that Ajani Ibrahim was ineligible to feature for 3SC in their Glo Premier League week 11 clash.
The forward has been a subject of a transfer tussle between officials of Sunshine Stars and 3SC with the former claiming that the erstwhile U-23 Eagles invitee still haa a valid contract with them.
Officials of Lobi Stars have filed a protest with the League Management Company over the player's eligibility and they now have support from Sunshine Stars.
Chief Scout of the Akure Gunners, Yinka Adebayo, hinted completesportsnigeria.com that it was wrong for 3SC to feature the player and has called for strong sanctions against them.
"It's a pity that 3SC officials refused to heed LMC' s directive that no club should play a player who is under provisional clearance," Adebayo said on Monday.
"Ajani Ibrahim was not eligible to play for them against Lobi and they should be reprimanded for their action.
"Lobi Stars have a good case and the LMC should be thorough in the way they handle the issue so as not to set bad precedence for future cases."
