Sunshine Stars returned to the summit of the Glo Premier League on Wednesday courtesy of a 2-0 win against Sharks at the Akure Township Stadium.
Both sides wasted clear cut chances early in the game, but it was the home side who took the lead in the ninth minute through Prince Aggreh.
Tunde Adeniji scored the decisive second goal for his side in the 68th minute, capitalizing on a mix-up in the visitors’ defence.
It was the forward’s 12th goal of the campaign and it ensured he moved to the top of the scorers chart ahead of Heartland’s Bright Ejike.
The Kennedy Boboye-led side have the best home record in the league this season as they have won all their fixtures in Akure.
