Super Eagles Debut Excites Iwobi Despite DR Congo Defeat

Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi who made his international debut in the Super Eagles’ 2-0 defeat against the Leopards of DR Congo has expressed his excitement at making his Nigeria bow.

Iwobi was introduced in the game by coach Sunday Oliseh in the second half and the forward has taken to Twitter to show how happy he is.

“Glad to make my debut for the #SuperEagles. Unfortunate to lose but still proud to represent my nation,” the Arsenal youth star tweeted.

The Eagles will play against Cameroon in another friendly on Sunday and Iwobi is likely to gain more game time against the Indomitable Lions.

Iwobi, who was a late call-up for the friendlies, was initially expected to have played for the U-23 Eagles.
