Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is excited by Tuesday’s 2-0 win over the Mena of Niger in a friendly at the Adokie Amiesiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers shot stopper received commendations for his great displays in the Eagles’ goalless draw against Tanzania in last Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, which was his debut for Nigeria.
Ikeme also started on Tuesday although he was substituted by Ikechukwu Ezenwa in the friendly against Niger.
The 29-year-old keeper tweeted his appreciation on the support the team coached by Sunday Oliseh have received so far.
He wrote: “Nice to finish the week off with a 2-0 win with @NGSuperEagles.
“Great atmosphere yesterday from the fans in Port Harcourt. Thank you!!!
The Super Eagles are second in their qualifying group behind Egypt, trailing the Pharaohs by two points after two rounds of matches.
