Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, will spend the next 10 days on the sidelines following a thigh injury he sustained in Nigeria's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Swaziland on Tuesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Onazi's Italian club, SS Lazio, confirmed the news on their official website.
"The tests which were carried out showed the presence of grade one strain of the abductor longus in the right thigh," the club announced on Friday.
"He will start specialized treatment today, and the recovery time will be determined after additional tests in a week or 10 days."
The combative midfilder played in both legs of the qualifier as the Super Eagles booked their passage into the next round courtesy of a 2-0 aggregate win against the Sihlangu.
Lazio will take on Palermo this weekend as action resumes in the Italian top flight following the international break.
