By James Agberebi: Former Super Eagles forward Yakubu Aiyegbeni played his first match under trial at English National League side, Boreham Wood FC, but failed to score against his former club Reading who thumped the Wood 5-0 at Meadow Park on Saturday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The game which was Boreham's first pre-season game, saw Aiyegbeni starting the match but was substituted in the 60th minute.
Goals from George Evans, Deniss Rakels, Tariqe Fosu (brace) and Liam Kelly, sealed the emphatic win for Jaap Stam's side.
It would be recalled that Aiyegbeni last played for Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.
He also featured for the likes of Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, and Everton in the English Premier League.
