Golden Eaglets head coach, Manu Garba, is upbeat his team will qualify for the next round of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier despite only beating Niger Republic 1-0 in the first leg, first round clash in Abuja on Saturday.
The Eaglets scored the only goal of the game in the second minute through Alagbe Oluwatobilola.
Garba went on to blame his team’s profligacy in front of goal for the slim win.
“It was a difficult game but we thank God we won and by the grace of God, we are going to win in Niger,” Garba told nff.com.
“Our expectations were high after we scored an early goal but we wasted a lot of chances thereafter.
“We have noticed our errors and we will correct them before the second leg; we just want Nigerians to be prayerful for these boys, we are
going to qualify.”
The return leg comes up in a fortnight in Niamey.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
