South Africa men’s U-23 team have qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games football event.
The South Africans secured the last Olympic ticket after defeating hosts of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations Senegal 3-1 in a penalty shootout after regulation time ended 0-0.
They now join Nigeria and Algeria as automatic qualifiers for the Olympic Games.
Their women’s national team had earlier secured qualification after they edged out Equatorial Guinea.
Senegal will now face a team from Asia in a play-off match to stand a chance of making it to the Olympics.
