U-23 Eagles’ Amuzie Returns To Training After Five-Month Layoff

By Johnny Edward:

Nigeria U-23s defender Stanley Amuzie has resumed light training five months after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, his agent Ayodele Makinwa has told Completesportsnigeria.com.

Amuzie copped the injury during an Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying game against Congo in Pointe Noire and‎ is expected to continue with his recovery which will be determined by the officials of his Portuguese club Olhanense.

“He has started training, running with the ball and working in the gym,” former Nigeria striker Makinwa told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“He will be back playing soon.”

It is however unclear how soon Amuzie will be back playing but ‎despite the setback the player hopes to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
