U-23 Eagles Beat Congo 2-1

The Nigeria U-23 side defeated Congo 2-1 in the first leg of their Africa U-23 Championship qualifier on Sunday, in Port Harcourt.

After a goalless first-half, Junior Ajayi scored two quick goals in the 47th and 51st minute to put the Dream Team 2-0 up.

But the Congolese rallied and were able to grab a vital away goal through Moise Kounkou, to end the tie 2-1.

The return leg comes up in two weeks time in Pointe-Noire.

The winner between Dream Team and Congo, will qualify for the Africa U-23 Championship in Senegal which will serve as the final qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

    Let siasia learn to respect opponent. He should stop being boastful. Where are the 4-0 goals he was boasting of. Shortly before he was sacked as super eagles coach, he boasted that he had srikers who could deliver, but after the 2-2 draw, at home, he was sacked.
