Nigeria U-23s will take on Mexico in an international friendly game as part of their preparation for the 2016 Rio Olympics men's football.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation, on their official website, the game comes up in Mexico on Saturday, 2nd July, and is scheduled to start at 8.30pm Mexican time.
And commenting on the game, NFF’s FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon stated on Tuesday that the match will take place at the Aguascalientes Stadium, home ground of newly promoted top tier club, Necaxa FC.
Also, the NFF revealed that a game against the Honduras U-23 team is also being consummated for 27th July.
Meanwhile, the NFF announced that after the friendly, the Nigeria U-23 squad will continue its training camp in the United States of America and will play Charleston Battery FC in Atlanta on Saturday, 16th July.
Nigeria U-23s will play Sweden, Colombia and Japan in the group stage of the men’s football tournament of this year’s Olympic Games in Brazil.
It would be recalled that the U-23 Eagles finished third at the Suwon Four-nation Invitational Tournament in South Korea.
In an earlier friendly game against Brazil, the U-23 Eagles triumphed 1-0 thanks to Ubong Ekpai's lone strike.
