Coach of the National U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has given his players one- week break following their arrival from Pointe Noire on Monday where they secured qualification for the African U-23 Championship.
He warned the players to remain focused and be good ambassadors of the team in their various clubs as any negative reports from their clubs would be taken seriously by the team’s management.
The U-23 Eagles secured qualification for the tournament following a 2-1 aggregate win against the Congolese side led by Frenchman Claude LeRoy.
Eight countries will participate in the competition that will be staged in Senegal from November 28 to November 12.
The top three teams at the tournament will represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the fouth placed team will face an Asian side in a play-off.
Nigeria failed to qualify for the football event of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
