How U-23 Eagles Rated Vs Mali

Completesportsnigeria.com's ADEBOYE AMOSU appraises the performances of Samson Siasia's boys in their first Group B match of the CAF U-23 AFCON against Mali on Sunday. The Dream team won the keenly contested game 3-2.

EMMANUEL DANIEL 6/10
Had a decent game though he conceded twice. He kept his cool in the key moments of the game and also made some fine saves.

SINCERE SETH 7/10
A fine performance from the right back. He performed his defensive duties well and also supports the attack well. His well placed cross was converted by Usman Mohammed for the Eagles second goal.

SEGUN ODUDUWA 5/10
Put of a strong showing in the first half, but struggled against the fleet footed  Malians in the second stanza. He was duly replaced by Chizoba Amaefule on 76 minutes.

ZAHARADEEN BELLO 5/10
The former Golden Eaglets defender fizzled out like most of his collegues  in the second half and was exposed a number of times by the opponent.

NDIFREKE EFFIONG 4/10
Had a torrid time coping with the pace of the Malian attacking players who  found joy coming through his side of the defence.

AZUBUIKE OKECHUKWU 5/10
Not a beautiful performance from the hard working  skipper of the side, but did well to rally his charges to see out the game despite strong fight back by the Malians.

USMAN MOHAMMED 6/10
The FC Taraba midfielder scored Nigeria's second goal on the night. He did enough to justify his inclusion in the team.

STANLEY DIMGBA 7/10
The pacy winger made two assists  and put up a lively display in the game. He really justified his late inclusion in the team.

OGHENEKARO ETEBO 5/10
The Warri Wolves forward carelessly conceded the penalty that led to the Malians  scoring the opener. He was no where near his best in the game.

JUNIOR AJAYI 8/10
The Tunisia based forward did his job well on the night by scoring two of Nigeria three goals.

TAIWO AWONIYI 5/10
Tried hard to make an impression in the game with little or no effort. He left the pitch injured in the 78th minute.

SUBSTITUTES
CHIZOBA AMAEFULE 3/10
Came in for Oduduwa and helped in stabilising the defence.

GODSPOWER ANIEFIOK 3/10
The Kano Pillars man did his best  in helping the Eagles protect their lead after coming on for Taiwo Awoniyi.
