By James Agberebi:

The U-23 Eagles will get to know their group opponents in the football event of the 2016 Olympic Games on 14 April when the draw will be held.

According to FIFA.com, the auditorium of the iconic Maracana stadium will stage the draw, which will involve both the men and women.

The 16 teams in the men’s tournament, including hosts Brazil and 2012 winners Mexico, will be drawn into four groups, and the 12 women’s team will be drawn into three groups.

Just one spot remains in the men’s tournament, with Colombia and USA playing off in March to complete the line-up.

In the women’s tournament, the final five teams to qualify will all be known by 9 March 2016.

Completesportsnigeria.con reports that the U-23 Eagles, coached by Samson Siasia, qualified for the Olympics after winning the second edition of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations held in Senegal.

The Super Falcons failed to make it to Rio after losing to Equatorial Guinea 3-2 on aggregate in the women’s qualifiers.
