Nigerian midfielder Nosa Igiebor was on target for Maccabi Tel Aviv who thumped Maltese side Hibernians 5-1 to advance to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League with a 6-3 aggregate win on Tuesday night.
Igiebor, who grabbed his side’s only goal in the first leg, scored his side’s fourth goal in the 82nd minute of the encounter to set up a clash with Viktoria Plzeň in the third qualifying round.
The winners of the third qualifying round tie will advance to the play-offs, the final round before the lucrative group stages.
The Nigerian international has now scored two goals in the competition.
In Bulgaria, Nigerian defender Ovye Monday and his Milsami teammates edged out Ludogorets 2-1 to advance 3-1 on aggregate in last night’s second leg clash.
They face the winners of the tie between Skënderbeu and Crusaders in the next round.
