CSKA Moscow’s Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa fired blanks in his 19th UEFA Champions League appearance for his side in Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss to Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena.
Musa who made his debut in the competition in a round of 16 clash against Real Madrid in 2012 failed to add to his goal tally of five in the competition.
Julian Draxler scored the winner in the 40th minute of the encounter.
In other matches on Tuesday, Manchester United scored first but lost 2-1 at PSV, while Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick as Real Madrid defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0.
Thr other English side in action on Tuesday night, Manchester City, also scored first but lost 2-1 at home to last season’s finalist. It was City’s first defeat in all competitions this season.
Musa played the entire duration of the encounter. Next up for CSKA Moscow is a home clash to Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.
Musa who was on from start to finish in CSKA Moscow’s 2-2 draw against Zenit St. Petersburg will lead his side’s charges against Mordovya this Saturday.
