Uganda Lose Top Stars Ahead Of Eagles Clash

By Adeboye Amosu:

Uganda midfielder, Derrick Tekkwo will play no part in Wednesday’s exhibition game between his side and the Super Eagles of Nigeria, completesportsnigeria.com can report.

The talented midfielder  travelled out of the country on Saturday morning with the Uganda Sand Cranes team for the return leg of the CAF 2015 beach championship qualifier with Ghana.

”Tekkwo will not be with us for the game because he is with our national beach soccer team, The Sand Cranes,” FUFA spokesperson, Ahmed Hussein, told reporters in Kampala.

Eight locally based players with the domestic clubs featuring in the AZAM Uganda Premier league trained under Head coach, Micho and his two assistants, Kefa Kisala and Fred Kajoba on Saturday, for the encounter billed for Akwa Ibom Stadium.

Uganda was a late replacement for Bolivia who were scheduled to play the Super Eagles on the same day but pulled out for security reasons. Both countries will use the game to prepare for the 2017 African Nations Cup qualifiers which start in June.
