Ujah Escapes Relegation With Bremen, Balogun’s Mainz Claim Europa Spot

At the Weser Stadion Stadium in Germany on Saturday, Nigeria striker Anthony Ujah came on for Maximilian Eggestein on the  hour mark as Werder Bremen defeated Eintracht Frankfurt by a lone goal. 

Ujah who has made 24 appearances and has scored 11 goals for his side this season was yellow carded in the 89th minute of the win which ensured Werder Bremen's safety from relegation.

Also, Leon Balogun returned to FSV Mainz's bench after serving a two-match ban in Saturday's goalless draw at home to Hertha Berlin. The win meant Mainz finished high enough to qualify for the Europa League.

 Balogun has made 24 appearances for Mainz.

Super Eagles invitee, Chidozie Awaziem, starred for FC Porto in their 4-0 bashing of Boavista on Saturday.

Awaziem who is expected in the Nigeria camp in Rouen next week ahead of the friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg has made 11 first team appearances for Porto in this his breakthrough season.
