Werder Bremen forward Anthony Ujah is a major doubt for Tuesday’s DFB Cup tie against Bayer Leverkusen despite taking part in a an individual running session on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Ujah was taken off in the 57th minute in Bremen’s 5-1 shock loss to Borussia Monchengladbach last Friday after taking a heavy knock on his thigh.
The 25-year-old Nigerian international however admitted that his teammates made so many mistakes in the defeat and were duly punished by the rampant Gladbach side.
"We made a lot of mistakes and lost the ball too often," Ujah told the Werder Bremen website. "We were punished for that. I know that we can do better. Our team has character and we will look ahead and we will try to right the ship."
Ujah provided one assist and has scored 11 goals from 44 shots on target in 23 appearances for Werder Bremen this season.
