Usman Mohammed has told Completesportsnigeria.com he has delayed his move to Norwegian side, Lillestrom, to represent Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
The midfielder was a major doubt for the competition after his representatives facilitated a move to Lillestrom.
He was expected to travel to the Scandinavian country to pen a deal with the club on January 15.
That would have automatically ruled him out from taking part in CHAN, a competition that is reserved for senior player plying their trades in their country's domestic leagues.
The FC Taraba player informed Completesportsnigeria.com that he hopes to seal the move after CHAN.
"I have put forward my transfer to Norway," he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"At the moment I want to concentrate on playing in CHAN, after that, I can then think of moving over to Europe.
"I hope to do well with the team in Rwanda and hopefully we will come back home with the trophy."
