Vardy Sent Off As Leicester, West Ham Draw

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Nigeria forwards Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike were in action on Sunday at the King Power Stadium as West Ham United and ten-man Leicester City ended their contest 2-2.

Jamie Vardy, who was sent off in the game after a second yellow card, scored his 22nd goal of the Premier League season in the 18th minute to make it 1-0 when he latched onto a Ngolo Kante through pass inside the West Ham box and fired the ball into the right side of the net.

Super Eagles star Victor Moses hit a shot from just outside the Leicester box in the 49th minute but the effort was blocked while Andy Carroll’s header a minute later missed target by whiskers.

West Ham’s Winston Reid received a lofted pass from the right side and tried to score through a back-heel from around the penalty spot, but the ball flew onto the right post.

Andy Carroll restored parity when he converted from the penalty spot in the 84th minute with a shot that went inside the right post after Les Morgan bundled Winston Reid to the ground. 1-1.

Aaron Cresswell lashed onto the ball with a volley into the top right corner of the goal to let West Ham go 2-1 up two minutes after they leveled.

Leonardo Ulloa then made it 2-2 in added time when he scored from the penalty spot.

  1. I SAID IT LONG BEFORE THIS TIME THAT THERE ARE SOME ENGLISH FA OFFICIALS WHO REALLY DO NOT FANCY LEICESTER REPRESENTING ENGLAND IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE NEXT SEASON AND THEY ARE BENT IN RUBBISHING THE FAIRYTALE STORY OF LEICESTER. THE REFEREE IN THE LEICESTER VS WEST HAM MATCH WAS TOO UNQUALIFY TO REFEREE SUCH A BIG MATCH. WHY WAS THAT RED CARD GIVEN TO VARDY I JUST DO NOT KNOW. VARDY WAS HEADING TOWARD GOAL AND THE DEFENDER WAS TUGGING AT HIS SHIRT WHICH MADE VARDY TO REACT. MOREOVER, VARDY HAS BEING THE FOCAL POINT OF WEST HAM ATTACK BUT THE REF MR. MOSS DID NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG. AT THE END HE WAS GUARDED OUT OF THE PITCH. HE MESSED UP. THE ONUS IS ON TOTTENHAM TO WIN AND NARROW THE GAP TO 5 POINTS TOMORROW. IF THEY DRAW OR LOSS, TOO BAD FOR THEM. ANYWAY, LEICESTER STILL HAVE A 5 POINT CUSHION. THIS LEAGUE IS GETTING INTERESTING AS IT IS DRAWING TO THE END. LEICESTER HAS 12 POINTS TO FIGHT FOR. WITHOUT VARDY, CAN THEY OVERCOME A DESPERATE SWANSEA? RIYAD MAHREZ IS GETTING TIRED AND I FEEL HE CAN NOT DO THE DAMAGES THE WAY VARDY WOULD HAVE. HOW I WISH IT WAS MAHREZ THAT WAS RED CARDED, HE WILL NEED THE REST. THE REST WILL BENEFIT VARDY PERHAPS, AS THE REMAINING MATCHES AFTER SWANSEA ARE TOUGHER. I WISH LEICESTER ALL THE BEST UNTIL THE END OF THE LEAGUE.
