Glo Premier League side, Warri Wolves have refuted claims of financial crisis at the club made by some players of the club, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
It was reported on Wednesday that fresh crisis is brewing up at the club over the payment of the players' sign-on fees.
The management of the club according to the report were said to have offered the players 20% of their wages as compensation for the scrapped payment of sign-on fees by the League Management Company.
Media Officer of the club, Moses Etu has however countered the claim, stating that Wednesday's meeting was called by the Delta State Sports Commission to discuss the sign-on fee issue as well as preparations for the new season.
"We had a meeting on Wednesday with some of the players and everything went well without any disagreement," Etu disclosed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
"It was the first time the new chairman of the Sports Commission will be meeting the players and the issue of sign-on fees and the way forward for the club ahead of next season and our participation in the CAF Championship League were discussed.
"We had a fruitful discussion with the players on how the sign-on fees will be paid and the players who were present at the meeting spoke well in the interest of their colleagues."
Present at the meeting Completesportsnigeria.com learnt, were the chairman of the club, Davidson Owumi, skipper of the side, Azubuike Egwueke, Bright Akpojuvwewo, Micheal Okoyoh, Osadiaye Joseph, Achibi Ewenike, Itoya Kelvin, Goodluck Onamado, Eyimofe Joseph, Tejiri Rhiogbere, Tega Iriose and Micheal Egbeta.
