Nasarawa United and Warri Wolves have both crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup and the Champions League after going down to defeats against Constantine of Algeria and Sudanese side Al Merreikh respectively, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Nasarawa United who defeated Constantine 1-0 last weekend were trounced 4-1 by their hosts, while Warri Wolves who went into their game with a goal deficit lost 1-0.
Former Algerian international,Yassine Bezzaz, put Contantine level on aggregate after he converted from the spot in the 47th minute.
The hosts went in search of the decisive second goal, but were kept at bay by the Solid Miners defence led by Samson Gbadebo.
Kabiru Dogo’s men against all odds rallied back and equalised through substitute Bature Yaro in the 67th minute.
They however failed to hold to the advantage as they conceded two quick goals afterwards.
Saadia restored the home side’s lead in the 77th minute, while Mourad Meghni doubled the advantage two minutes later.
Nasarawa conceded the fourth goal late in the game.
The Lafia- based outfit lost out on a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
In the CAF Champions League Warri Wopveswere defeated 1-0 by Sudanese side, Al Merreikh in Omdurman.
Bakri Almadina converted from the spot late in the game to give his side a 2-0 aggregate win against the Seasiders.
