Arsene Wenger has finally admitted he doubts whether Abou Diaby has an Arsenal future.
The 28-year-old French midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and despite positive signs earlier this season it seems Wenger is running out of patience with him.
Diaby has played once this season, in the Capital One Cup against Southampton, and the Gunners boss admits he is nowhere near returning to action.
He said: “At the moment he is not in a position where he will be able to play soon because he is not on the field at all.”
Diaby’s record of 16 games in four years shows the severity of his problems.
And when pushed on his contract situation, Wenger added: “I will have a decision to make about his contract.”
Arsenal have signed Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw and hope to complete a deal for Gabriel Paulista this month.
