Nollywood stars Richard Mofe Damijo and Okey Bakassi have voiced their disappointment at Saturday's 3-1 defeat of Premier League side Arsenal against West Bromwich Albion, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Craig Dawson grabbed a brace while Hal Robson-Kanu scored the other goal for West Brom. Alexis Sanchez scored Arsenal's only goal but went off in the second half injured as Arsenal stay fifth in the Premier League table with 50 points with a game in hand.
Both entertainers are passionate Arsenal fans but are disconsolate after the devastating defeat.
"Does what I think about Arsenal matter now?. We say the same things over and over every year," RMD told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I'm tired of this backwardness. One moment you think they have turned the corner, the other they disappoint. As much as I want Arsene Wenger to remain as the manager, he should just go with his dignity still intact.
"As things stand, the top four is almost out of their hands. I don tire for this kind thing o, my brother. The excuses must end now. There is no stadium project or something like that."
Okey Bakassi also reacted as the Gunners faithful come to terms that the North London club may not play Champions League football next season.
"Arsenal have to change philosophy to match today's football reality," the popular comedian told Completesportsnigeria.com. "They have to increase salary cap to attract more world class players that can win trophies.
"It's not just about Wenger. If you remove him with the present club ideology, the club will collapse before it can even rebuild.
"Wenger has said he will decide soon on his future. Why the silence from the Arsenal board. It just seems to me that they are too scared to do the pragmatic thing."
Arsenal will face Manchester City next in their Premier League game on April 2 after the international break. They will face same side 21 days later in the semifinals of the Emirates FA Cup.
