Gabriel Paulista could be handed a surprise first Arsenal start as they travel to White Hart Lane for the North London derby today.
The £11.2m January signing has only featured on the bench for his new club so far but boss Arsene Wenger has said he’s ready to go.
However, there are a couple of in-form obstacles in Paulista’s way in the shape o Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
Wenger said: “Gabriel can start. At the moment he’s ready to start, he’s just not used to playing in our back four and he hasn’t mastered the language at all. He’s physically ready.
“At the moment I have no special temptation to switch in the middle of our defence because we are going through a strong spell defensively. But he’s ready to play.”
