–Baggies boss, Pulis gives update ahead of Stoke clash
By Johnny Edward:
West Brom coach, Tony Pulis has ruled Victor Anichebe out of Saturday’s EPL clash at home to Stoke City.
Pulis, nominated for the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month award, after guiding the Albion to two home victories – against Swansea and Southampton and draws at Burnley and Sunderland also added that, Ideye is struggling to be fully fit for the game.
“We’ve got one or two knocks and niggles, so I don’t think we’ll know until right before kick-off who is available,” he said. “Seven or eight of the lads from last weekend are fine but there are three or four doubtful ones.
“We’ll have to wait. Saido Berahino, Brown Ideye, Victor Anichebe are still struggling, as is Callum McManaman.” Anichebe has not figured since limping out of the 2-2 draw at Burnley on February 8.
Meanwhile, West Brom must forget their double derby misery if the Baggies are to stay up.
A 2-1 League reversal, courtesy of a stoppage-time Christian Benteke penalty, was just Albion’s second loss in 12 games under new boss, Pulis. It was followed by a 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat to the same opponents in the same ground, amid fan unrest, as the Baggies missed out on a trip to Wembley, for the semi-finals.
