By Izuchukwu Okosi:
Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike was blamed by a number of West Ham United fans for the club’s inability to secure three points in their thrilling 3-3 draw against Arsenal at Upton Park on Saturday afternoon.
However, a few other fans disagreed and felt the Nigerian put in a decent shift.
The Hammers came from two goals down to eventually secure a 3-3 draw and keep their chances of Champions League football alive.
On-loan Fenerbahce striker Emenike came on at half-time with the score at 2-2.
“If you think Emmanuel Emenike is good at football, please contact me so I can direct you to a list of new sports to watch,” a fan who goes by the name Cas and with the twitter account, @Jayaetc, tweeted.
Another fan simply identified as Ü with twitter account, @_wangwe, suggested Emenike will probably do well as a clergyman than being a footballer.
“Arsenal are losing to a team that has a player called Emenike. Emenike probably does football part time, his full time job is being a pastor.”
Matt Ellenberger (@bergerrunner) asked why West Ham went for the striker in the first place.
“We’ve got Emenike, Emmanuel Eminike, I just don’t think you understand… And I don’t either why is he in the team #COYI.
Jamie Wright on @jamiewright1973 put it this way:
“@ExWHUemployee Reid has poor distribution but so does Collins. The back 3 didn’t work today. No changes needed just yet. Emenike did nothing.”
Ergin Ataman with twitter handle @Despicable_B_ was brief but probably the harshest fan in his assessment of Emenike.
“@whufc_official would have won it if you didn’t bring on Emenike.”
Thankfully there were those who had different opinions about the contributions of the Nigerian.
“I thought Emenike was the real game changer #WHUFC, ” Prime on @PrimeWHU tweeted.
“How brilliant was Emenike today btw? thought he looked class when he came on,” Connor Brierly with twitter handle @CBCOYI stated.
“Even Emmanuel Emenike played well today. Really wanna find out what’s going on with Sakho though. All a bit weird,” West Ham Forum with twitter handle, @WestHamNews1966 wrote.
West Ham Transfers (@westhamtransfer) simply tweeted, “I like Emenike”.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria.
