Wolves: Akpeyi Free To Join Leopards

By Adeboye Amosu:

Glo Premier League outfit, Warri Wolves, say they will not stop their goalkeeper Daniel Apkeyi from joining Congolese side, Athletic Club de Leopards.

The Nigeria international is rumoured to be on the radar of the former CAF Confederation Cup winners who eliminated the Seasiders from the competition last weekend following a 4-3 aggregate win.

Media officer of Warri Wolves, Moses Etu, informed completesportsnigeria.com that the club are aware of AC Leopards' interest in the shot stopper but are yet to a formal offer from.

Etu further said that the club will only sanction the move if the offer is right.

''It's true that they (AC Leopards ) are interested in Daniel Akpeyi but they are yet to make a formal offer for him," he disclosed to completesportsnigeria.com.

''One of their officials approached me after our game against them last weekend and commented that we have a good goal keeper.

''On our part, we won't stop Akpeyi from joining them if he informed us that he is interested.

''But they must be willing to meet our asking price.

''We are not a club who stop players from achieving their objective but always crave for things to be done appropriately.

''If Akpeyi leaves, we have a suitable replacement in Okiemute Odah, so we are ready for the deal."
