Warri Wolves players have shelved their plans to boycott Saturday’s crucial Glo Premier League clash against Sunshine Stars completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The players have refused to train for the past two days protesting the non-payment of their seven months salaries, sign-on fees and bonuses.
Completesportsnigeria.com can however report that the players trained on Friday morning under the watchful eyes of the club’s technical adviser, Paul Aigbogun.
The Seasiders’ top scorer Gbolahan Salami assured fans of the club that they have put the incident behind them and are looking forward to the game.
“For now, the only thing we are thinking about is the game against Sunshine Stars,” Salami said.
“The protest won’t distract us as we know what is at stake at the moment.
“We must beat them to boost our chances of winning the league and that is what we are going to do.”
Sunshine Stars are second on the log ahead of their third-placed hosts and a win for the Seasiders will see them leap over the visitors.
