Wolves Want League Matches Postponed

By Adeboye Amosu:

Warri Wolves are seeking the postponement of their week 10 Glo Premier League  game against Kano Pillars and other games.

The seasiders have seven of their regular players in the Super Eagles and the U23 camp in preparation for the 2017 AFCON qualifier and the African U23 Championship qualifier against Chad and Congo

The seasiders, according to spokesman of the club Moses Etu, have already written a request to the League Management  Company requesting that the game against Pillars should be postponed, as well as other forthcoming games until the players resume from national assignment.

''We have written a request to the LMC seeking the postponement of our forthcoming games as a result of the involvement of our players with the national.

''As you are aware, we have five in the Super Eagles [Azubuike Egwueke, Daniel Akpeyi,Solomon Kwambe, Stanley Dimgba and Gbolahan Salami] and two [Freedom Omofoman, Etebo Oghenekaro] in the U23 team.

''These players are regular starters in the team and there is no way we can honour those games and expect good results when our key players are not available.''
