Head coach of First Bank women's basketball team, Peter Ahmedu, has expressed confident of his team's chances ahead of the second phase of the Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League which dunks off in Asaba on April 9, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ahmedu, a former Mark Mentors handler said during one of his side's trainings at the Indoor hall of the Asaba Township Stadium that his players were perfecting all their tactics in other to have a successful tournament.
"I have confidence in these players, that they can come out on top in this phase of the tournament," Ahmedu told Completesportsnigeria.com during an chat.
"Currently, the team is good to go as you can see that we are perfecting all our throws and tactics to have a successful tournament here in Asaba.
"You can see that a new synergy exists among the players and they are all thirsty for success with the commitment and determination they have exhibited in training.
"We have respect for all the teams in the league; we would not go into any match underrating any team," Ahmedu added.
The teams billed to take part in the 2016 Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League are; First Bank, First Deepwater, Oluyole Babes, Sunshine Angels, AHIP, Immigration and Plateau Rocks.
Others are Taraba Queens, Benue Angels, Dolphins, FCT Angels, GT 2000, Customs, Coal City Angels, Delta Force, Nasarawa Amazons, Zamfara Babes and Police Queens.
