Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf is delighted to see John Obi Mikel reclaim his place at English Premier League champions, Chelsea, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The midfielder who barely featured for the Blues under former manager, Jose Mourinho has flourished so far under interim boss, Guus Hiddink.
The Catalyst as Mikel is called by his admirers has started the West London side last three games and was widely praised for his impressive showing against Crystal Palace.
Yusuf told Completesportsnigeria.com that Mikel's new found form will also benefit the senior national side.
"It's good that Mikel is now playing regularly at Chelsea. His performance in the last few games for Chelsea has been encouraging and we hope he continues to do well for the club," Yusu told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"He is an important player for us (the Super Eagles) and playing regularly is a big plus ahead of the Nations Cup qualifiers."
