Super Eagles assistant coach Salisu Yusuf has assured of a ‘brand new’ Super Eagles that Nigerians will be proud of as the race for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations restarts in March.
The Eagles are billed to host the Pharaohs of Egypt on March 25 in Kaduna with the return leg scheduled four days in Cairo.
The former Kano Pillars coach spoke to Completesportsnigeria.com briefly on the newly installed Eagles coaching crew by the Nigeria Football Federation on interim basis and headed by Samson Siasia following the resignation of Sunday Oliseh.
“The NFF have taken the decision to appoint the new coaching crew. I worked with Sunday Oliseh and it is my honour to work now with Samson Siasia, Emmanuel Amuneke and Alloy Agu (again).
“The objective clearly is to defeat Egypt at home and go to Egypt and get a good result which could be a draw or a win,” Yusuf told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The Africa Cup of Nations is the main thing and we will surely do our best. We want to give Nigerians a team that will be stronger.
It is a ‘brand new’ Super Eagles that we want to give the country.”
The home-based Super Eagles are expected to hit camp in the second week of March to start preparations ahead of the double header.
