Zambian Referee To Handle Nigeria, Egypt AFCON Qualifier

Janny Sikazwe from Zambia will be the centre referee for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Day 3 qualifying match between Nigeria and Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday, March 25.

 

The Nigeria Football Federation stated in a release on Wednesday that Sikazwe will be assisted by Arsenio Chadreque Marengula from Mozambique who will be assistant referee 1, while Zambians Romeo Kasengele and Wisdom Chewe will serve as assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively.

 

The match commissioner for the Nigeria, Egypt clash will be Abbasi Ssendyowa from Uganda.

 

Sikazwe, 37,  has been an international referee since 2007.

 

Meanwhile, South Africa's Daniel Frazer Bennett will be at the centre for the reverse fixture between Egypt and Nigeria which will take place inside the Borg el Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Tuesday, March 29.

 

He will be assisted by compatriots Zakhele Thusi Siwela (assistant referee 1), Peter Chauke (assistant referee 2) and Kulasande Qongqo. The match commissioner is Moroccan Said Belkhayat.

 

Egypt are top of group G on six points from two games, while Nigeria are second on four points from the same number of games.
