Zlatan Ibrahimovic started his Manchester United career in spectacular fashion on Saturday as the Red Devils came from behind to defeat Galatasaray 5-2 in a pre-season friendly in Gothenburg.
The Swedish striker, 34, scored the first goal of the match after just four minutes with a bicycle kick as United got off to a quick start.
Galatasaray were level 18 minutes later however through Sinan Gumus.
The Turks threatened to spoil Ibrahimovic’s party when they went in front in the 41st minute with a close-range Bruma effort from a Wesley Sneider freekick to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
United captain Wayne Rooney hauled his side level in the 55th minute off an Anthony Valencia cross. The England forward then handed United a 3-2 lead from the penalty spot in the 58th minute after substitute Marcus Rashford was brought down in the box following a brilliant run.
Jose Mourinho’s side opened a two-goal gap with a Marouane Fellaini header in the 62nd minute, and then wrapped up the impressive win in the 75th minute after Juan Mata started and finished a fine move.
The win offered some pre-season relief for United after they lost 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund and had a clash with city rivals Manchester City cancelled due to poor conditions.
