The Oyo state Commissioner for youth and sport, Alhaji Farouk Alao Arisekola has revealed that he is set to unveil the book which is a compendium of the History of Shooting stars together with the new jersey of the club to celebrates the club’s glorious return to the Nigerian Proffessional Football league.
Speaking to the Author in presence of the Acting Director of Youth and Sports, Mr.s Adegoke, Special Adviser to the Government on sport, Waidi Ekun and host of others at his office and the Author/Publisher of the book, Mr Ayo Ademokoya, the amiable commissioner commended the job and believes such project is what we need to rebrand the club.
“We are glad the club is returning to the elite division almost immediately it got relegated last season and that is a plus to this administration which this government is ready to celebrate.
“I went through the book and I can authoritatively tell you that it represents the club and what we stand for which is pacesseting in all ramification as no football club has its history so compiled the way we have done and this is the first of its kind in Nigeria.
“Together with the book, I am very sure ‘Oga’,(The Executive governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi) would be very happy to unveil our new jersey as that is why I have directed the Acting PS to work out modalities for us to push the book to the youths so that they would be able to appreciate what Shooting stars truly stands for.”
The book which is of 12 chapters and 255 pages is title the Golden Book of Shooting Stars(Volume 1) and took 9 years to compile.
