Tope Orelope and Cletus Itodo were on the scoresheet as Shooting Stars of Ibadan harvested their first away win of the season after a comprehensive 3-1 bashing of Heartland at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, near Onitsha on Monday morning.
Orelope opened scoring for the Oluyole Warriors in the first half but Fortune Omoniwari restored parity for the Naze Millionaires in the stoppage time of the first half.
But the Gbenga Ogunbote charges did not lose sight of their revenge mission having lost 3-1 to Heartland during the reverse fixture in Ibadan.
In the second period, Cletus Itodo and Najeem Olukokun found the back of the net to leave final scores at 3-1.
The match was moved to Monday morning following heavy down pour that forced the game to be stopped after 25 minutes on Sunday.
Later on, Sunshine Stars played out a scoreless draw with hosts, Ifeanyiubah FC at same venue.
It was a disappointing result for Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorunmu who made their debut in the afternoon as IfeanyiUbahcoaches after they were unveiled on Sunday.
The result leaves Sunshine Stars one point behind leaders, Enyimba, at the summit of the NPFL table.
Enyimba are in the driving seat with 41 points while Sunshine Stars have 40.
Similarly, hosts, Sharks forced Enugu Rangers to a 1-1 draw at the Sharks Stadium.
CHAN Eagles forward, Christian Pyagbara, reacted fastest to slam the ball home on the dot of five minutes of additional time.
