Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu and West Brom forward Victor Anichebe have been listed among English Premier League’s most prolific substitutes.
According to thesun.co.uk, while playing for Arsenal, West Brom and Portsmouth, Kanu was subbed on 118 times, scoring 17 times, to occupy the second position with Manchester United great Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
They are both behind Sunderland’s striker Jermaine Defoe who has scored 22 goals after coming on 131 times as a substitue.
On his part, Anichebe is joint fourth on 13 goals alongside Robbie Keane, Michael Owen, Andy Cole and Darren Bent.
Sitting in third position is former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez with 14 goals.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle and Super Eagles forward Shola Ameobi holds the record as the most subbed player, coming on 142 times.
