Nigeria forward Kelechi Iheanacho has missed out on the final shortlist for the Manchester City Player of the Season award for 2015/2016.
The three players on the final shortlist for the award are Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero, who won the award last year.
Iheanacho, who had a breakthrough season for City, scored eight goals in 26 English Premier League appearances.
The 19-year-old scored the Super Eagles’ only goal in their 1-0 win against Mali in a friendly last Friday in Rouen, France and scored as well as provided an assist in a 3-1 win against Luxembourg on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, despite Gent losing the Belgian league title to Club Brugge, Moses Simon has described the just concluded season as a successful one.
Simon featured in 32 league games for Gent, scoring three goals in the just concluded season.
“Thank you great God for a successful season. Vacation starts now,” Simon wrote on his Twitter handle on Wednesday
Simon was in action for the Super Eagles in Tuesday’s 3-1 friendly win against Luxembourg.
