Besiktas have declared that they have no interest in signing Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli.
Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola claimed Besiktas wanted to end the Italy striker’s misery on Merseyside by signing him from Liverpool.
However Besiktas sporting director Erdal Torunogullari has rejected Raiola’s claims, saying they are not interested in signing the controversial Italian striker.
Torunogullari claims Besiktas’ priority is hanging on to Germany striker Mario Gomez, who scored 26 league goals last season.
“We know Raiola well,” the Mirror quoted the Besiktas director as saying. “He’s even said Balotelli will go to Besiktas, but it’s not like that.
“We’re not interested, our priority is to hold on to Mario Gomez.”
Balotelli’s former club AC Milan turned down the chance to sign him last month when his loan spell ended and Raiola looks like he will have to continue his search for a new club for the fallen hitman.
The former Inter Milan and Manchester City striker struggled on loan at AC Milan last season, scoring only three goals in 23 games and was dropped from Italy’s Euro 2016 squad.
Balotelli’s Liverpool contract expires in 2018 but it appears Jurgen Klopp wants to sell him.
