Elderson Echiejile is hoping to build on his impressive winning debut for Standard Liege in the Belgian top league when his side travel to Gent on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The AS Monaco loanee who featured for the entire duration of his side’s 5-0 thumping of Waasland-Beveren at the weekend hopes to build on his second appearance for the The Rouches.
The 28-year-old currently on loan at the club also praised his Standard fans for the overwhelming support throughout the encounter.
“It was a great game and I hope to continue in that way,” he told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“The fans were awesome and I believe we can build on that win in our next game.”
He also tweeted: “Great job boys. Shoutout to the amazing fans. Thanks for your continuous support.”
Standard Liege are currently fifth on the log after 11 games with 19 points.
They are also placed third in their Europa League Group G behind Celta de Vigo and Ajax.
They face Panathinaikos who are rock bottom in the group in their next game on 3 November.
