Oboabona Sent Off As Rizespor Win; Enyeama Lets In, Ideye Absent

Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona was sent off in stoppage time as Rizespor saw off Gaziantepspor 2-1 on Sunday. It was his 13th start in the Turkish Super Lig season and his first ever red card in Turkish football, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Kenneth Omeruo was out of action for Alanyaspor who played a goalless draw at home with Akhisar Belediye Genclik Ve Spor. The Nigeria defender has turned out 11 times for Alanyaspor this term.

Olympic Eagles' Okechukwu Azubuike made his 13th appearance for his side, Yeni Malatyaspor who were forced to a 1-1 draw at home by Adana Demirspor. His compatriot Sunday Mba was not listed for the encounter. He has scored twice in 13 games.

In England, Alex Iwobi made 13th appearances this term for Arsenal who lost 2-1 to Manchester City that paraded Kelechi Iheanacho for the last six minutes of the match City won 2-1 at the Ethiad Stadium on Sunday. 

Iwobi who made his seventh start of the EPL campaign was replaced in the 65th minute by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as the Gunners suffered their second consecutive defeat in a week. Iwobi has scored one goal in the EPL this term.

Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Kevin de Bruyne in the 84th minute for his 12th English Premier League appearance. He has one goal to his name.

In Italy, Former U-20 midfielder, Orji Okonkwo made his fifth substitute appearance for Bologna who defeated Pescara 3-0 on Sunday. Okonkwo came on for Ladislav Krejci with six minutes left to play as his side won and moved up to 14th on the Serie A log. His compatriot, Sadiq Umar was not listed for the clash. Umar has made five​ appearances so far this term.

In Spain, Super Eagles midfielder Ramon Azeez played all 90 minutes for Almeria who lost 2-1 away to Mirandes in a LaLiga 2 clash on Sunday. Azeez has made nine appearances for Almeria in the second division.At the Stade Velodrome, former Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama was beaten twice – by Bafetimbi Gomis and Florian Thauvin, as his side, Lille lost 2-0 to Marseille. Enyeama conceded the two goals within a space of five minutes in the second half.

Enyeama had earlier stopped William Vainqueur's long-range effort in the 33rd minute. He has now conceded 24 goals in 18 matches. The defeat ended Lille's unbeaten run of four league games.

In Belgium, Super Eagles pair of Elderson Echiejile and Onyinye Ndidi were both handed starting roles for their respective teams Standard Liege and Genk who played out a 2-2 draw at the Luminus Arena on Sunday.

 

 Echiejile made his fifth league start for Standard Liege in the encounter while Ndidi who was making his 18th appearance went into the referee's book in the 45th minute of the encounter.

In Greece, Nigerian forward Brown Ideye was not a part of Olympiacos' 3-1 win over Panaitolikos on Sunday. Despite missing the encounter, Ideye is still the top scorer in the Greek league with nine goals from 11 games.
