Super Eagles’ opponents in the June 10 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, are expected to arrive in Lagos on June 7 aboard a South Africa Airways plane, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
South Africa coach Stuart Baxter has already announced a strong 25-man squad for qualifier scheduled for Uyo.
Meanwhile, Baxter says he has not yet decided on the coaches to assist him in the national team, while he plans to engage with his intended captain before making it public.
“In terms of the technical staff, we will be finalising that now that the squad’s out,” Baxter told a press conference.
“You can imagine I had probably three days when I wanted to pour all my efforts into checking activity and availability of the players I’ve selected, and those we might need just in case, speaking to coaches and engaging clubs on the possibility of releasing players a day or two early for my first camp.
“I’ve poured all my efforts into monitoring the players and selecting the squad that I think can do the job for South Africa in Uyo.
“So the staff, and who will go, will be my next challenge. I didn’t delegate to anybody, I engaged the club coaches that know these players better than I do, and I made a call on should we [or] shouldn’t we.”
