Completesportsnigeria.com has been informed that the official final medals table of the just concluded 11th All Africa Games (AAG) tagged Congo Brazzaville 2015 will be released by Wednesday.
The inability of the organisers of the event to make the official medals table available during the games and even on the final day of the 16-day sporting festivity remains the major drawback of the event which ended on Saturday.
Completesportsnigeria.com who visited the headquarters of COJA, the Games’ organising body, in Diata on Monday was told that the initial setback was as a result of the inability of Sportfive and the information arm of the Local Organising Committee to harmonize their figures as regards medal winnings by the competing countries.
“We’ve our own figures but we cannot release them because we have not received or harmonized them with Sportfive,” a senior official of the information arm of the Local Organizing Committee told completesportsnigeria.com on Monday.
“But that will be done maybe later today (Monday) so between today and tomorrow (Tuesday) everything will be harmonized so it will be made open.”
However, few hours later, completesportsnigeria.com ran into a top shot of COJA who is a woman who confirmed the final medals table has been computed.
She even promised to personally make it available to completesportsnigeria.com.
“We’ve just finished computing it but we’ve not printed it out. If you were available at the Presidential Villa today (Monday) you would have understood what I’m saying.
“We worked althrough the night yesterday because of that. Look at my eyes, red with sleep, don’t worry, just give me your e-mail address and I’ll mail it to you when I’m out of my bed, latest Tuesday,” she promised.
