Nigeria U-23 Eagles players, Kingsley Sokari and Effiong Ndifre, are looking to start their All Africa Games campaign on a winning note.
The Team Nigeria men’s football team will confront their West African neighbours Senegal in their opening group match on Wednesday and the players are aiming to down the Senegalese.
“Our target here is to qualify from our group first and after that we see what happens next,” Sokari who plays his professional football with Enyimba of Aba told completesportsnigeria.com here in Brazzaville.
“The first game is always crucial which is why we are working hard to win our first game even though we know it will be tough against Senegal.”
Striker Effiong Ndifre echoed his teammate’s view, emphasizing that Nigerians should stand behind the team in prayers as the players are determined to excel at the All Africa Games.
“We need the support and prayers of Nigerians, we are here to ensure we bring the gold medal home to Nigeria, Senegal or no Senegal,” the Abia Warriors set piece speciallist added.
