Bursaspor defender, Shehu Abdullahi, hopes to see his teammate, William Troost-Ekong score more goals for the club this season after he hit the back of the net in their Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Abdullahi missed the league opening day clash due to injury.
His international teammate, Troost-Ekong fired Bursaspor ahead connecting home from a corner-kick in the 16th minute before the hosts rallied back with two quick goals of their own.
The former Kano Pillars player also praised his teammates for putting up a good fight in the game and believe they were unlucky to go back home without a point.
Great fight against @Fenerbahce_EN, superb team spirit by the squad. We deserved more in the game, but enough positives to build on. Congratulations @WTroostEkong for your goal, more to come this season. We are @BursasporSk!!!,” Abdullahi wrote on his Twitter handle.
Abdullahi will hope to be fit for Bursaspor’s next league clash against Kayserispor on Saturday.
